Family TherapyI currently have a waiting list for families.
Please note, I only work with families with adult children who are 18 or older. |
Family is at the center of human life. It is an essential source of connection, belonging, and joy, but it also comes with a myriad of challenges. There are complex transitions and moments of crisis that can render old dynamics and coping mechanisms useless. Sometimes there are old hurts that need to be attended to, and sometimes we discover that there are wounds that have been passed down through the generations and for whatever reason seek to be healed in this current family generation. Whatever it is that has brought you to this moment, family therapy is an excellent place to join together and navigate these issues. Family therapy is not about judgment or blame - it's about connection, and as a therapist I approach all members of a family with curiosity and care, knowing that every person has a story.
I work primarily from an integrative lens and incorporate a contextual, family-systems focus to explore intergenerational patterns and wounds in addition to a focus on attachment. I pay attention to the family life-cycle stage (births, deaths, parenting, aging concerns, children launching, etc.) to help bring more awareness to normative family transition. I help you examine relational patterns that could be contributing to conflict or distance, and I work to uncover and weave in your family's unique strengths and resources. |
