Individual & couples therapy for clients in New Hampshire and Oregon
Individual Therapy
I practice psychodynamically, which means the relationship is the heart of the work. Within that, I draw on Jungian, IFS-informed, and Narrative approaches — not as techniques to apply, but as languages for the deeper work of individuation: locating the true Self within, making meaning out of suffering, and shifting our relationship to the darkness rather than fleeing it.
Therapy can be part of a process of individuation; that is, of locating the true Self within. That includes making space for the darkness, the messiness, and the suffering. It's about greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and making meaning out of our suffering so that we can shift our relationship to it.
Matrescence and Perinatal Therapy
At the beginning of my own matrescence, I wish someone had told me that the identity shift I was experiencing was normal. I wish I had known that I might feel far away from myself for a long, long time, and that the sacredness and the challenge of this experience would lead me home to myself in a new way. That's what I'm here to offer you.
Matrescence, or the transition to motherhood, is one of the most profound identity passages a person can go through, and yet it is one of the least adequately named or supported in our culture. It's a metamorphosis: biological, psychological, relational, spiritual. It can break you wide open. It can also lead you home to yourself in ways you couldn't have anticipated.
I specialize in accompanying people through this passage: witnessing it fully, holding space for both the darkness and the light, and helping you find yourself again.
Couples Therapy
Relationships make life worth living, but they can also open us up to tremendous challenge. It can be so painful and destabilizing to suddenly feel far apart, stretched to your limits, and unsure of how to reconnect.
I offer supportive, strengths-based therapy to couples wishing to find greater connection and interrupt negative patterns you might find yourself stuck in. I’m passionate about supporting couples in uncovering what works about your relationship, as well as building greater understanding about what isn’t working, and why, and developing new frameworks and methods to interrupt negative cycles and connect more deeply with one another.
